Lord and Lady
These hounds are the top male and female of the pack. Usually mates, they rule the pack and their word is the law, obeyed without question. They are highly respected and can and will punish rule breakers. Depending on their mood or personality, sometimes, they will be the only mating couple but usually that is not the case. They have the power to excile and kill severe criminals but most usually don't.
Deputy in Command
This single hound is the second in command, next to the top dogs. They are respected and will take over ruling if for any reason, the lord and lady are both unable to. Their job is to organize hunting patrols, border patrols and such when the lord is busy.
Healer
The healer is usually a wise elder with excessive knowledge of herbs and healing. They look after the wounded members of the pack and are highly respected. Usually old, they may take on an apprentice, though younger dogs have been known to take on the position, but it is very rare.
Major
The major is the most experienced or best defender. They lead the defenders in battle unless one of the other higher dogs choose to. There are usually two or three Majors who are respected by the dogs. They must be strong, physically and mentally, clever in strategic plans and popular but strict among the defenders.
Defenders
These hounds are the guards, warriors, and hunters of the pack. They are very important and must not be looked down upon. This group of males and femmes must be strong and clever but disiplined as well. They must protect the pack with their life and find food for the, even in the harshest conditions.
Apprentice and Pups
Pups must be regarded and treated with care and love. They are the pack's future and the harm of one is a crime worthy of excile and even death. At 5 Moons, they become apprenticed to the defenders. When the Majors decide that they have trained enough, they become full Defenders unless the Healer takes them on as their apprentice.
Elders
These are the dogs who have retired from their posts either because of old age or any difficulty that prevents them from working.
